A business CCTV system is only useful if the cameras are in the right positions and the recorder is capturing footage you can actually use. Commercial premises we cover

What a business system usually includes

Most commercial installations are built from a few core parts, sized to the site:

• Cameras: a mix of fixed cameras for entrances and tills, wider cameras for open areas, and varifocal or zoom cameras where you need detail at distance such as a yard gate.
• Recorder and storage: an NVR sized so footage is retained for a sensible period. We talk through how many days of recording you want before older footage is overwritten.
• PoE and cabling: cameras are powered and networked over structured Cat6 cabling back to a switch and cabinet, which keeps the install tidy and reliable.
• Remote viewing: live and recorded footage on your phone, tablet or computer, with alerts on supported systems so you know when a camera detects activity out of hours.

Loading bays, yards and after-hours cover

Commercial sites often need coverage of areas that are quiet during the day and exposed at night. Loading bays, yards, side entrances and perimeter fences benefit from cameras chosen for low-light performance and positioned to avoid glare from security lighting. Where a camera needs to reach a remote gate or a separate building, we can run cabling or use a point-to-point wireless link rather than leaving a blind spot.

Storage, retention and access

How long you keep footage matters. Keep it too short and an incident is already overwritten by the time it is reported; keep it too long without reason and you are storing more than you need. We size the recorder and drives around a retention period that suits your business, and set up user accounts so the right people can view footage without sharing one master login.

Taking over an existing system

If you already have CCTV that is not working properly, we do not always need to start again. We take over existing Hikvision and Dahua systems, fix faults, replace failed cameras or recorders, and set up remote viewing that has stopped working. If the existing kit is beyond economic repair we will say so rather than patching it indefinitely.

Cabling, networking and Wi-Fi

CCTV reliability depends on the network behind it. Titan holds TP-Link Omada Wireless and Routing & Switching certifications, so the same team can install the structured cabling, PoE switching and business Wi-Fi that a commercial system relies on. For larger or multi-building sites this avoids the common problem of cameras and network being installed by different people who never quite join up.

Maintenance and support

A camera that has drifted out of position or a recorder with a failed drive is no use when you need the footage. We offer planned maintenance and support so systems are checked, kept up to date and repaired when something goes wrong. Support plans are available where you want a set response arrangement rather than ad-hoc callouts.

Commercial CCTV comes with responsibilities around where cameras point, signage and how footage is handled.
