Do I need a managed broadband service?

If your CCTV system relies on internet for remote viewing and you do not have an IT team to manage your connection, a managed broadband service removes the hassle. We monitor the connection, fix problems remotely and ensure your cameras stay online. It is especially valuable for rural sites, farms and businesses where reliable internet is critical but technical support is not available on-site.

What 4G coverage do you need?

We need a reasonable 4G signal from at least one major network (EE, Three, Vodafone or O2). Our industrial-grade routers with external high-gain antennas can work with much weaker signals than a mobile phone. We carry out a site survey with signal testing before recommending 4G, and we can use multi-SIM routers that switch between networks for maximum reliability.

Can you add 4G to my existing broadband?

Yes. Our 4G failover service adds a backup 4G connection to your existing fibre or broadband. If your main connection drops, the 4G kicks in automatically within seconds so your CCTV remote viewing stays online. This is ideal for businesses where 24/7 connectivity is critical.

What data plan do I need for CCTV?

For remote viewing and alerts only, 20GB to 50GB per month is usually sufficient. If you need continuous cloud recording or have multiple users viewing live feeds regularly, we recommend 100GB or unlimited. We assess your usage during the site survey and recommend the right plan. You can upgrade at any time if your needs change.

Do you provide the SIM card?

Yes. We supply and manage the SIM card as part of the managed service. We select the best network for your location based on signal testing during the site survey. The SIM, data plan and router management are all included in your monthly fee — one simple bill and one point of contact for everything.
